End of day 3

It is truly amazing how things work sometimes and how we come to be in the right place at the right time. Mom and I started this journey with nothing more than the basic idea that we are being called to do this. A big piece of why we are here was revealed to me this evening. The long lost friend is actually a distant cousin of mine. Her grandmother and my mother’s grandmother (on my mother’s father’s side) were sisters. I guess that makes her my cousin aunt or something weird like that. Well she (Carol) and I have a lot in common. Mom and her picked things up like a week had passed not 50 years. It was truly awesome to watch and be present for. My mother is really happy. Tomorrow we are going to the Nebraska State Fair and then meeting up with Carol for dinner. What a trip. PS thanks to everyone that is responding, I feel so grateful to you guys for responding. It is encouraging and makes me want to keep up on this bloging and up loading of pictures. Also I have been sending post cards so if you go to http://www.va2ak.org/ and send me an email with your address you will get one from me along my journey. Jake.
